Filing the return

StudioTax provides two options for filing a return. If you have an internet connection, you can use NETFILE to send your return using the internet. The second option is to use the StudioTax CRA-approved printed forms and mail your paper return to the CRA.

NETFILE

NETFILE is more convenient and is the preferred option for filing a return. Here are some of the benefits of Netfile taken from the Canada Revenue Agency site:

After you finish entering your tax information and you are satisfied that your return is ready for filing, click the NETFILE button to start the StudioTax Netfile wizard. The wizard will guide you through the process of generating and transmitting the Netfile .TAX file.

Print and mail

If you don't qualify or you choose not to use Netfile, then you can always file your return using a paper return. After you finish entering and reviewing your tax information, start the print wizard by clicking the print button, select the "For the government" option and follow the wizard's instructions. As of tax year 2005 CRA introduced the 2D Bar code technology to better capture printed returns data and minimize human errors.
